Proposed Reunion of Pupils who left in 1956

For those of us who left the school in 1956, 2006 marks fifty years since our departure. This surely is a fact worthy of being celebrated with a renewal of schooldays’ friendships at the school. Ten years ago, David Bayliss organised a forty-years-out reunion at the school when a good number of people turned up and enjoyed a splendid day of fellowship, shared memories and frank amazement over how very little we had all changed; but that was ten years ago! Apart from the opportunity to renew friendships, a reunion-visit to the school will give the chance to see the many changes and improvements that have occurred since our day.

In the belief that the notion of a reunion will appeal to many of us, some preliminary work has been undertaken in order to verify that a venue is secure. The new Headmaster, Mr Andrew Rattue, has kindly offered the use of the Headmaster’s lawn together with an indoor area in the event of inclement weather. The proposed date for a reunion is Saturday 8th July 2006. We will meet for a bite to eat/drink and catch up, a tour will also be available and then move over to Flagge Meadow to watch a Worcester RGS First Team Cricket Match against Wolverhampton GS. Although arrangements have been smooth so far, there is a problem to be overcome if a reunion worthy of the name is to be held. This concerns the fact that no up-to-date list exists that gives the current location and address of most of our number. This communication has been sent to you at the address held by the Old Elizabethans or school records.
