British Mathematical Olympiad Results

3 August 2006

This paper was sat by the top 1,000 candidates from the 55,000 who sat the UK Senior Mathematical Challenge last November - an achievement in itself, having 6 RGS candidates in the top 1000.

All the RGS candidates did well, with Peter Ford and David Williams being awarded prizes for being placed in the top 100 candidates - a superb achievement.

Peter and David have been selected to sit Round 2 of the BMO at the end of January, as has Peter Bullock (Year 10) - an outstanding achievement on his part given his age.

The other three candidates - Edmund Croft, Joe Staines and James Anderson - all did well, but the threshold for BMO2 selection is higher for Y13 candidates and they narrowly missed qualifying.

Well done to them all - and good luck to Peter, David and Peter for the next round.
