Cabaret Evening

9 March 2007

Thursday saw a fabulous evening of vocal achievements by our musical students when they sang for us at the re-arranged Cabaret Evening in Perrins Hall. Girls A Cappella, the new Boys A Cappella, The Cabaret Scratch Band, JJ Draper and James Sinclair's duet, a sauve James Gibson, soaring Romy Alexander and "Wicked" Sophie Feek all proved that there is no shortage of talent at RGS.

Tim Spalding  and Joe Blight gave a very moving recital of 'Together as One' which had many in the audience brushing away tears and pretending to have 'something in my eye'!

"The Prayer" by Hannah Marshall and Anna Clements was beautifully performed as was Anna's solo 'A New Life' from the musical "Jekyll & Hyde".  Faye Halliday produced a powerful rendition of 'Everlasting Love' and Graham Irving played piano and sang 'I Want Love' wonderfully.

But 'Feeling Good' by Katy Venables was the most extra-ordinary performance of the evening. Katy's voice is just fabulous and this was definitely a very professional performance.  Take every chance you can to hear this young woman sing - you'll soon be paying good money for the same privilege!

Many thanks to all who supported this great event and to the RGSA for providng the bar.
