ICT Department

The emphasis at RGSAO with regard to ICT, is with the C - Communication. We believe a thorough grounding in ICT at school is vital if we are to send confident young men and women out into the world who are better able to communicate with their peers, both at college and in the workplace.

ICT facilities at RGSAO are excellent. The three ICT teaching suites are all fully equipped with new multimedia computers, with access to colour laser printing facilities, broadband Internet access and a host of relevant software applications. They allow students to be involved in a whole spectrum of activities, ranging from researching and producing coursework, through to producing a film or a web site.

All students and Staff are provided with email addresses https://mail.rgsw.org.uk, and both our Internet site and Schoolweb, our Intranet site are heavily used by pupils, staff and parents to assist with both teaching and efficient communication within the school community. Upon arrival at RGSAO our students receive two periods of ICT by subject specialists. Cross curricular ICT is taught across the middle school, and both AS and A2 ICT are offered in the Sixth Form.
