The girls played brilliantly and deserved their success.
v Old Swinford Hospital
Wednesday 12th March
1st lost 22-31
2nd won 31-10
A very decent OSH side came out firing, taking the first quarter 10-4 as RGSAO were hurt by too many errors.
RGSAO got their game together, winning the next two quarters to go into the final quarter 18-22 down in what was becoming a closely fought, even contest. However, things fell apart in the last quarter as the GA and GD for OSH took control of the match. Final score 31-22 to OSH.

Wednesday 27th February
1st won 29-10
St Marys surprised the team with their competitiveness and speed of play. It was not until midway through the second quarter that things started to click, with Amy Jauncey on fire with her movement and shooting. Special mention also to Katie Bishop who worked tirelessly in mid-court.
v Christopher Whitehead's
Wednesday 20th February
U12a won 10-7
U12b won 8-0
v Prince Henry's
Wednesday 20th February
1st won 43-15
2nd won 26-19
RGSAO hit the high notes as they tore into a decent Prince Henrys side. Harriet Taylor owned the first quarter scoring at will thanks to some on-song feeds from Megan Fairley and Emily Connell. Movement in and around the attacking third was sharp and incisive. In mid-court Katie Bishop was tenacious in winning balls she had no right to win, and the quarter ended with the school ahead 13-2.
Prince Henry's, with a strong GA and GD being instrumental in leading a fight back in the second quarter, saw them reduce the defecit to only 9-19 at the half. The RGSAO intensity had reduced.
Determined to reassert in the third period, RGSAO saw a stellar return to form from fit-again Jenny Curtis at WA. She linked superbly with Amy Jauncey, who showed her versatility in moving to GS and sinking goal after goal as the score mounted to 31-12 at the end of that period.
It's a sign of the domination of Alice Nebel and Becky Hill, as they conducted a mean defence, restricting the opposition to a miserly three goals in the final quarter. The game ended 43-15, which represented the team's highest goal return of the season and a return to their best form.

Tuesday 19th February
U14a won 16-5
U14b won 23-3
v Prince Henry's
Tuesday 19th February
U14a won 42-8 (!!!)
The U14a team delivered a devastating performance against Prince Henry's Evesham this afternoon, posting a 42 - 8 victory. All the hard work in the practice sessions paid off as the girls dominated the court in every respect. The passing was fast and accurate, the defending tenacious and the shooting impressive. Well Done!
v King's
Tuesday 5th February
U13a lost 17-24
U13b won 14-3
U13c won 10-2
U13d drew 8-8
v Nunnery Wood
Monday 4th February
U14 won 16-5
v King's
Saturday 2nd February
1st lost 16-35
2nd lost 17-31
A truly disappointing performance against a King's side who were sharper, hungrier and more effective in all areas of the game. King's hit their stride from the off, rattling into a 6-0 lead as errors plagued RGSAO.
It would be nice to report that things improved, but they didn't. Features of the opposition's play were the swarming defence from all seven players and the speed with which they moved the ball downcourt. We had no answer and King's were worthy winners.

v Bromsgrove School
Wednesday 23rd January
1st lost: 20-29
2nd lost: 18-29
U16 won: 22-18
In the 1st team, a good game was so nearly a great one. The first half saw us never more than 2 goals behind a very strong Bromsgrove side. We matched them in every department, and when we turned round the 1/2 at 10-12 there was noticeable panic brewing in the opposition camp.
However, the wheels came off in the 3rd 1/4 as our high standards dropped and before we knew it we were eight goals down. Parity was restored with a determined comeback in the final quarter, which we only lost by one goal, and we finished the stronger of the teams.
The 2nd team played a loose first quarter, and then also came back strongly to match Bromsgrove for the rest of the game.
