U13 Worcestershire Schoolgirls County Hockey Championship

1st round –held at RGS The Grange

RGSAO were Winners of the above section on goal difference

Round-robin final – held at Malvern St James

v s Kings                             Drew 0-0
v s Malvern St James     Won 2-0
v s The Chase                    Won 4-0

The RGSAO Team played the above matches back to back, they were 20 mins each with 2 mins between each game – not easy!

The first match against King's saw the RGSAO girls in a rather tentative and uncertain mood. Even though they were fairly dominant, they didn’t manage to capitalise on the many goal-scoring chances they created.

Early in the game Sally-Anne Smith (GK) was called upon to substitute an injured Lexi Russell. With some aggressive attacking play RGSAO scored their first goal, which was the spur needed to raise their game and they scored their second goal.

Now in full flow, the final game saw RGSAO completely dominate a hard working Chase team. Excellent attacking play down both wings was rewarded with some very well taken goals. The score line was very well deserved.

Although we were ahead on points, we had to wait anxiously for King’s to play out their last two games and although they won both these games, they could easily have taken the title on goal difference. With a two goal margin over King’s, RGSAO became the U13 Worcestershire Schoolgirls County Champions 2008!
