Volunteering Students Support Learners

Year 13 students Rebecca Hill and Alastair Small joined up with the Warriors Study Centre at Worcester Rugby Club to volunteer their services as Study Supporters to underachieving pupils in city schools. Rebecca and Alastair sacrificed their spare time to assist young learners who sought to improve their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as part of the Playing For Success project. Amongst other things pupils were involved in making ID cards, writing storyboards of their stadium tour and designed their own rugby shirts during their two hours after school sessions. Rebecca has opted to continue her voluntary work throughout the summer term whilst Jessica Beck has recently joined the team of helpers at Sixways.
