Wildcats Assembly Report VII

15 February 2007

24 November 2006

This was always going to be tough - this was the make or break game of the season so far. Win it and we go to Christmas with a positive playing record. Lose and we could, with one game to go, end up looking like brides after the Lord Mayor's show. The warm up drills were not as smooth as they may have been, the crowd was the lowest for a home game for years and Coach Shorrocks' new innovation number 1023 - the introduction of video - was still untried. Video, by the way, stands for Vastly Improved Defence Execution Operatives or was Virtually Impossible and Delightfully Entertaining O. The whole game was up for analysis. There was going to be nowhere to hide. The game got off to a poor start with our first D/Decker move failing - the end result being the Wildcats were 1 - 0 after twenty seconds. Slow motion video later revealed the reason why . . . our WA moved before time. Nevertheless, we recovered well and despite playing far too many long balls over the top to sharp-shooter Rachel Gwilt we soon had taken the lead

. . . unfinished report . . . . still watching the video . .
