Slimbridge Wetlands Reserve
22 February 2008
On Thursday 7th February 2008 Year 3 children and teachers travelled to Slimbridge to visit the wetlands reserve. The purpose of the visit was to gain a deeper understanding of how animals, particularly birds, are adapted to their habitats. The children walked the reserve feeding the many species of birds then had a talk and interactive demonstration from centre staff This was followed by a hands on session where the children were able to hold many animals. The final part of the day involved watching the impressive wild swans landing. Everyone had to be very quiet!
